Meenangadi AG Church celebrated India's 80th Independence Day on 15 August 2026 with a special flag-hoisting ceremony, prayer and patriotic songs. The celebration brought together members of the church family, local community and military personnel from the area.
As a gesture of gratitude and respect for their dedicated service to the nation, military personnel were honoured and presented with special gifts during the celebration.
The programme continued with prayer, patriotic songs and a joyful family gathering. Meenangadi AG Church also shared traditional Kerala payasam with everyone, creating a warm atmosphere of friendship, unity and togetherness.
The gathering reflected the spirit of communal harmony and fellowship among Christian, Hindu and Muslim communities in Wayanad. The celebration was a meaningful opportunity to remember the sacrifices made for India's freedom and to promote peace, unity, love and harmony in our community.
